Hello, I'm Natasha

Electrical Engineer | Product Manager | Policy Officer | Teacher | Lifelong Learner

My Story

My career path has been anything but linear. Trained as an electrical engineer and policy officer, I have worked in the public, private and non-profit sectors. I embrace change and thrive when I am learning and growing.

In 2024, I took a step back and realized that unintentionally, and somewhat accidentally, I have taught students across 4 continents. My students have ranged in both age and nationality. Subjects have ranged from the energy transition to climate change to piano to english. One thing remained the same: teaching always brought me immense joy.

I love digesting information, transferring knowledge, and connecting with people. â€‹

Sustainability

I have been a passionate environmental advocate for many years. In 2017, I started a change.org petition to ban plastic bags in Newfoundland. This petition received over 10,000 signatures and contributed to the provincial government's decision to prohibit the distribution of retail plastic bags in 2020.

Currently I sit on the Newfoundland and Labrador Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Advisory Council. I have also recently completed my term on the Smart Grid Innovation Network Board of Directors.

I recently completed a United Nations news writing assignment, focused on sustainable development goals 5 & 7.

  • SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

  • SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
